Health Learn More about Food Deserts
What are the implications of access to nutritious food for a community?

Communities with access to more nutritious food are found to have less rates of obesity and diabetes. There is a clear correlation between those who have less access to food and poverty levels. Those who don't have close access to supermarkets and lack transportation options don't have the support for healthy eating.
  • Reflection Question
    Food Choose Organic Ingredients
Can organic farming feed the world? Which side of the argument do you fall on? Why?

I don't think it can solely feed the world but I think the practices that organic farming promote can help farmers be more sustainable, which could help spread more food around. I do think there are a lot of things that still can be improved with the organic farming industry before it can become the standard.

Helping businesses with the Green Business program allows me to educate business owners about the benefits of clean energy and give them the tools to research and see if its a good fit for their business model. We've helped countless of businesses switch to even cleaner energy than what's offered!
  • Reflection Question
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles serve an important role in places for health and safety, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. Can you identify the barriers in making this a new habit? How can you set yourself up for success in making this a permanent change?

I've been using a reusable bottle for so long now that it's just a way of life. I understand clean water is definitely a privilege so I buy from companies that give to clean water programs, such as the company Larq.

Implementing meatless Monday for my family allows us to not only explore different ways to get protein but start a conversation about why we're doing this and the impacts on resources we would save just as a small family.
