Hello EcoAds,  I just noticed that out of 25 teams we are in fourth place.  Did you know we get points for literally checking in here each day?  And if you can't check in daily you can go back in time and update the days you did your actions?  Also, you get points for answering the reflection questions on your actions and also for sending this message I get 5 points!  Just a little encouragement if you needed it.

What do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than any other places, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How can we start shifting from a meat-focused food culture to a more plant-based one?

I think marketing and commercialism did this.  Someone decided this was a good way to make a lot of money and we all just went along with it.  I think the way we shift is education and a more holistic intention.

What did you observe while spending time outside -- through sight, sound, smell and touch?

I really enjoy listening to the birds sing, watching them fly and chase each other above my head.  No one has to tell the birds what to do, they just do.  I especially love the hummingbirds who spend a lot of time in my backyard with me.

I love seeing the wildlife when I am outside as well. It makes me smile and stop to relax and enjoy what they are bringing to the environment.

It helps me to see how much I already have that is good, beautiful and soul-serving in my life.

How can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?

I can choose to do spin classes with my husband and that helps us feel more connected.  Also, when I have my weekly visits with my friend Susie, we often choose to hike in Santa Teresa County Park which is a great way for us to get exercise and catch up with each other.
