People of Color are more effected by environmental degradation because they often live nearer to pollution sites. This can result in higher rates of asthma and dead/disabilities related to asthma and other conditions.

Doing some research on food deserts, which included finding out what a food desert it. Walking to/from the grocery store is one of my favorite urban exercise/errand. It's hard to imagine not having a grocery store or some purveyor of fresh food close enough to walk to!

I'm glad that there's a small market within a short-walking distance from my home, and several more within a few minutes drive.

I recall when our city had fruit stands on almost every corner. I miss those times as it was easy to stop and get it on the way home from anywhere in the city!

Access to nutritious food could lead to less obesity, greater energy, potentially more exercise and overall healthier families, which would go a long way to increasing happiness and quality of life.

Another beautiful day and lovely view of the river. Saw some geese and their babies (again) and a gorgeous overlook of the town.

Hitting all my daily activities at once, I was able to get out into the lovely day and talk a walk by the river, where I enjoyed the cool breeze and birds chirping and got to see a communal family of geese and they many many new babies! :)

I love keeping track of my gratitudes because it keeps me focused on the positive and more aware of all the resources, blessings and pleasures I have in my life.
